A former newspaper features writer, Kerri writes narrative nonfiction, mostly about the unexpected Florida. Born near Cape Canaveral, she struggles to stay or leave her home state and chronicles her conflicts via the blog Florida Love Hate.
Her work has been published or is forthcoming in Barely South, Literary Mama, Dead Mule, New Southerner, Mason’s Road, and Still, among others. She has a memoir-in-progress.
Kerri teaches at State College of Florida. She earned a B.S. in Journalism from Florida Southern College and an MFA in Creative Writing from the Stonecoast program at the University of Southern Maine.
